Brian was born in August 1975 which makes him disgustingly old. He has lived in Ealing most of his life which makes him disgustingly middle class. In 1997 he graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA (Hons) in Drama and English. Whilst at University he was a DJ, producer and presenter on the student radio station University Radio Exeter. He was the Station Manager and also editor of "Now In Colour" in 1996, the year the station won student coveted Guardian Student Media Award for Student Radio Station of the Year. At present he works in e-marketing for a market leading exhibitions company, and has previously worked extensively in theatre box office sales with nine years service as groups sales organiser at the Royal National Theatre. Whilst at the National he was also Branch Secretary for the trade union Bectu. Brian comes from theatrical parentage. His mother Vicki was a wardrobe mistress for the Royal Opera House before becoming a freelance TV costumier (she later moved into shopping centre management) and his father Mickey worked for the BBC Visual Effects department for over 20 years before going freelance. Brian's grandfather (Douglas Cliffe - "the vocal deceiver") was in the Army entertainment organisation Stars In Battledress during the Second World War and was the first ventriloquist to appear on television (in 1946). In 1993 Brian was diagnosed with Insulin Dependent Diabetes and has been injecting himself daily since then. He prefers diet Coke to diet Pepsi. A recent purchaser of a trumpet, he has yet to actually start learning how to play it. He is vegetarian, but doesn't like parsnips. |
